Dr. Maysaa Banai Zubairi, a faculty member at the College of Pharmacy, University of Basrah, published a research paper titled "Vitamin D Deficiency and its Treatment in Patients with Fibromyalgia Syndrome in Iraq" in "The Egyptian Rheumatologist" journal. The journal is indexed in Scopus, has an impact factor of (0.67), and is published by the global publishing house Elsevier.

The research aims to use modern methods in diagnosing fibromyalgia, a disease highly prevalent in Iraqi society due to physiological and psychological reasons. The response to treatment using Vitamin D combined with antidepressants was evident.

The research also highlighted the importance of testing Vitamin D levels in people with this disease and the necessity of adhering to the treatment for a period of no less than 3 months.
