Master's Thesis Defense | Treatment for Type 2 Diabetes:
A Master's thesis at the College of Pharmacy, University of Basrah, explored a highly critical topic titled: (The Effect of Initiating Short-Term Basal Insulin in Newly Diagnosed Type 2 Diabetes Patients on Blood Sugar Control Over a Full Year).
The study, presented by student Duha Ayad Yassin Idris, aims to simplify the therapeutic regimen and highly emphasize the importance of insulin use in patients suffering from severe hyperglycemia at the time of diagnosis. This approach is intended to significantly improve patient adherence to their treatment plans.
Furthermore, the researcher sought to evaluate the efficacy and safety of early initiation of insulin therapy, combined with several hypoglycemic medications, in significantly improving blood sugar control during one full year of continuous follow-up.
