Scientific Activities | Workshop on Raising Awareness About Drug Risks:

The College of Pharmacy at the University of Basrah organized an awareness workshop focused on the topic (Drugs: Their Social and Individual Effects), targeting postgraduate students at the college.

The workshop featured a valuable lecture delivered by Dr. Nadhira Faleh Nima, which outlined several key themes. These included the stages of addiction, drug classification, religious rulings on drugs, causes of abuse, and the resulting health damages. It also reviewed the various types of drugs based on their sources (natural herbal, manufactured, and synthetic).

The workshop aimed to spread awareness about the extreme dangers of drugs, emphasizing how habituation and addiction can severely destroy a person's physical, psychological, and social health. It also highlighted the extensive harm inflicted on families and society as a whole, while explaining the proper, correct mechanisms for dealing with a drug addict or promoter.
