university of basrah has held a seminar about quercetine derivatives
The Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry at the College of Pharmacy , university of basrah has presented a seminar entitled:(Isolation, manufacture and evaluation of the biological activity of quercetine derivatives) by
M.Sc. student Reham Adnan Taha. The seminar included isolation of querstine from Iraqi onion peel, in addition to quercetine derivatives that have been prepared in vitro and diagnosed by various laboratory techniques as well as by theoretical bases .
The seminar also has discussed the biological activities, antioxidant ,anti-bacterial and anti-cancer type (TNBC) in addition to the theoretical study of anti-cancer effectiveness Using molecular docking technology. The study found that quercetine derivatives have a stronger anti-cancer activity than those of quercetine itself. They showed high antibacterial activity against gram negative bacteria E.coli.
