The Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology at the College of Pharmacy, University of Basra, organized a seminar entitled:

"Latest Therapeutic Advances in Heart Failure with Preserved Ejection Fraction"

The seminar featured a lecture delivered by postgraduate student Ghaith Khalaf Abd, in which he reviewed the latest therapeutic and clinical guideline updates (2025–2026) related to Heart Failure with Preserved Ejection Fraction (HFpEF).

He also shed light on the fundamental shift in diagnostic criteria, discussed the clinical findings of the FINEARTS-HF trial, and highlighted the pioneering role of Finerenone — a novel non-steroidal mineralocorticoid receptor antagonist — in providing dual cardio-renal protection, reducing myocardial fibrosis with a high safety profile for patients.
