A Master's thesis was defended at the College of Pharmacy, University of Basrah, entitled: "Isolation and Characterization of Fisetin Compound from Tomato Fruits for the Green Synthesis of Calcium Oxide Nanoparticles and Evaluation of Their Biological Activities."
The thesis presented by student Ahmed Abbas Kabashi included extracting Fisetin from tomato fruits, followed by its isolation and characterization using appropriate analytical techniques. The study also evaluated phenolic and flavonoid contents and assessed the biological activities of Fisetin. Subsequently, Fisetin was utilized in the green synthesis of Calcium Oxide nanoparticles, evaluating their biological efficacy.
The study aimed to isolate and characterize Fisetin from tomato fruits, assess its biological properties, and employ it in the green synthesis of Calcium Oxide nanoparticles while investigating their bio-efficacy and biocompatibility.
The significance of the study lies in utilizing tomato fruits as a natural and cost-effective source of Fisetin with diverse biological activities. Furthermore, it highlights the potential of green-synthesized Calcium Oxide nanoparticles as promising agents in pharmaceutical and therapeutic applications, particularly in combating inflammation and oxidative stress.
