The College of Pharmacy at the University of Basrah discussed the Master's thesis titled: "Study of the Protective Effect of Lycopene and Coenzyme Q10 Against Neurotoxicity Induced by Ifosfamide," by the researcher Mohammed Saeed Arshied Al-Tamimi.

The study demonstrated in an experimental rat model that both Lycopene and Coenzyme Q10 have a clear protective effect on brain tissues against chemotherapy-induced toxicity, with significantly increased efficacy when used in combination.

These findings open new horizons for reducing the neurological side effects of cancer treatments, improving patient quality of life, and supporting advanced pharmacological research aimed at developing protective adjuncts for complex therapy protocols.
