Scientific Activities | Risks of Antibiotic Misuse:

Dr. Ahmed Abdul-Kareem Al-Saad, a faculty member at the College of Pharmacy, University of Basrah, delivered an important scientific lecture at the Horizon Scientific Forum. The forum was organized by Sawa Scientific Office in cooperation with the World Health Organization (WHO) and focused on antibiotic resistance, attended by more than 140 pharmacists from Basrah province.

The scientific forum aimed to bring about a fundamental change in health realities by spreading widespread awareness regarding the misuse of antibiotics. It also aimed to redefine the role of the pharmacist in the healthcare system—not merely as a medicine dispenser, but as a trusted consultant, a leader in change, and a responsible scientific voice in society.

Dr. Ahmed's specialized lecture, titled (Misuse of Antibiotics and Bacterial Resistance), fundamentally sought to raise awareness about the immense dangers of excessive and incorrect use of antibiotics, which poses a genuine global health threat to people's lives.
