Master's Thesis Discussion on the Synergistic Effect of Dietary Supplements Against Resistant Fungi

The College of Pharmacy at the University of Basrah discussed the Master's thesis titled "Synergistic effect of Fluconazole-resistant Candida with Alpha-Lipoic Acid and Quercetin," presented by the student Maha Hassan Sahi.

The study investigated the synergistic activity between Fluconazole (an antifungal agent) and some dietary supplements found in our daily food. The results showed a significant improvement of 100% when Fluconazole interacted with Alpha-Lipoic Acid over a 15-day treatment period.

The study also recorded partial results between Fluconazole and Quercetin at a rate of 74%. The thesis aimed to find successful alternatives and therapeutic solutions against resistant Candida fungi, achieving impressive results compared to previous studies.
