The College of Pharmacy at the University of Basrah hosted a specialized workshop focused on energy and environmental management, as part of the national initiative launched by the Council of Ministers to reduce emissions and support energy sustainability.
The workshop was presented by Mr. Ali Abdul Hassan Madhoosh, Director of Quality and Institutional Development at Southern Electricity Production. He highlighted the climate change crisis and its profound effects on the planet and Iraq in particular, linking it to the concept of global warming caused by pollution and fossil fuel combustion.
The initiative aimed to establish concepts of consumption efficiency and fulfill the requirements of the Climate Framework Agreement, contributing to the reduction of carbon emissions, achieving sustainable development goals, and preserving the environment for future generations.
