The College of Pharmacy at the University of Basrah organized the 7th annual "Healing Herb" (Oshbat Tashfa) Festival under the slogan "Our Identity in Our Beautiful Environment and Its Perennial Trees."
The head of the Pharmacognosy and Medicinal Plants Department, Dr. Ala Muhammad Nour Al-Moussawi, emphasized the importance of preserving environmental heritage, stating that trees are a source of identity, wisdom, and healing inherited from our ancestors. The event also highlighted the scientific and humanitarian obligation to protect our natural resources.
The festival featured a charity market, a medicinal plant exhibition, a book fair, and an art gallery, alongside displays of medicinal herbs, vegetable oils, and pharmaceuticals. All proceeds from these activities are donated to the Basrah Nursing Home, reflecting the college's commitment to social philanthropy.
