The College of Pharmacy at the University of Basrah, in collaboration with the Enjaz Foundation for Development, conducted a public awareness seminar on Monkeypox at Al-Farahidi Cultural Street.
Moderated by Lecturer **Najla Al-Saffar** and presented by Pharmacist **Zahra Jaseb**, the session educated the local community on viral transmission and symptoms. Particular emphasis was placed on protecting vulnerable groups including children, pregnant women, and the immunocompromised.
The discussion covered key warning signs such as fever, skin rash, lymph node swelling, and muscle aches. Attendees were urged to follow essential prevention protocols, such as avoiding contact with infected individuals and their personal belongings, to ensure public safety.
