A Master's thesis titled "Study of the effect of Type 2 Diabetes on some immune factors" was successfully defended by student Asmaa Emad Mohammed at the College of Pharmacy.
The thesis featured a comprehensive analysis identifying fluctuations in immune factors within blood samples of Type 2 Diabetes patients in Basrah, compared to a healthy control group. The research specifically investigated the correlation between these markers and HbA1c levels in the patients.
The study aimed to elucidate the pathological relationship between chronic hyperglycemia and immune dysfunction. It also sought to raise awareness among patients and clinicians regarding the critical need for metabolic control to safeguard long-term immunological health.
