The Pharmacognosy and Medicinal Plants Branch at the College of Pharmacy, University of Basrah, systematically organized a specialized panel discussion titled 'Important Information You Should Know About Stevia Sweetener,' definitively designed to highlight its fundamental medical properties and scientifically address the ongoing inquiries surrounding sugar alternatives.

The lecture, meticulously delivered by Assistant Professor Yassar Abdul-Hussein, aimed at providing a highly accurate scientific introduction to the Stevia plant and the primary sweet-tasting glycosidic compounds extracted from its leaves. The comprehensive session elaborated on its proven medical benefits and its advanced commercial applications, situated alongside an extensive review of the latest scientific research strategically aimed at optimizing the production of these vital compounds.
