The University of Basrah participates in the Scientific Week of the Iranian Republic

A delegation from the University of Basrah, headed by Professor Dr. Saad Shaheen Hammadi, President of the University of Basrah, and his deputy, Professor Dr. Falah Hassan Shari, participated in the Scientific Week of the Iranian Republic.
Ferdowsi University hosted this event, which was organized by the Cultural Chancellery of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Iraq and in coordination between the Iranian Ministries of Science and Iraqi Higher Education.

More than 60 universities from both countries participated in this scientific event, which aims to develop diplomacy, interactions, academic communication and international cultural exchange.
Introducing scientific and research capabilities, highlighting the most important achievements of scientific and technological cooperation, studying the prospects for cooperation and coordination between the universities of the two countries, consolidating the atmosphere of scientific cooperation, and developing joint scientific programs and scientific discoveries in various fields.
It also aims to coordinate the exchange of professors, hold short-term educational courses and workshops, continue developing scientific and academic interactions between the two countries, develop study opportunities for professors, create science oases, transfer technology between the two countries, and scholarships at various levels of graduate studies, among other goals of holding the “Islamic Republic Science Week.” Iran and Iraq.
According to the announcement of the Cultural  Attaché of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Iraq, the scientific conference also discussed topics emerging from the file of joint work in the fields of scientific research and cooperation programs in various fields between academic institutions in the two countries, in order to expand and strengthen scientific and technological relations, implement joint research projects, and develop joint cooperation between the centers. Scientific and research activities in the two countries, and memorandums of understanding will be signed.
Also, by holding online meetings and seminars between universities and scientific and academic centers in the two countries, the existing challenges and ways to solve them will be studied based on bilateral relations, the exchange of opinions, and the formation of joint academic committees to follow up and implement the agreement.
