Synthesis and Characterization of Novel Polymeric Prodrugs Discussed at the College of Pharmacy

The College of Pharmacy at the University of Basrah successfully conducted the Master's thesis defense of "Mohsen Ali Hezam," which focused on the preparation of three innovative polymers as bioactive drug carriers.

⚙️ Scientific Methodology & Analysis

The student employed high-fidelity analytical techniques, including:
  • Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC) and Thermogravimetric Analysis (TGA).
  • Conjugation of polymers with "Fusidic Acid" to synthesize pharmaceutical esters.
  • Formation of coordination complexes with Zinc Oxide to evaluate enhanced antioxidant efficacy.
Antibacterial Efficacy

The results demonstrated significant potency against three distinct bacterial strains compared to standard Fusidic Acid.

Stability & Purity

Thermal analysis confirmed exceptional stability and extremely high chemical purity of the synthesized polymers.
