A faculty member at the College of Pharmacy participates in a course on drug prevention

Prof. Dr. Daoud Gluub Halil, participated in the (Drug Prevention) course, which was organized by the Center for Development and Continuing Education at the University of Basrah, with the participation of researchers and specialists.
And Dr. Dawood indicated that the course included lectures on the phenomenon of drug abuse, which has become a very serious global problem and a real threat to the societies that are afflicted by it, because of its great impact on the structure of human, social and economic societies, which leads to the destruction of the individual's health, loss of his mind, loss of consciousness and function, deterioration of his dignity and the disintegration of his family. And the displacement of his children, his poverty and bankruptcy, and then the addict becomes dependent on his family and society instead of being a productive and effective force in the service and progress of his society. Therefore, the course shed light on methods of drug prevention and treatment, including how to prevent drug abuse and search for a good lifestyle, focus on the role of the state in preventing trafficking and drug abuse, and continuous awareness of society about the dangers of drugs, and how to protect their children from slipping into this dangerous slope.
