A doctor at the College of Pharmacy publishes a research paper in an international journal.

Dr.Osama Hamid Ramadan, the lecturer at the College of Pharmacy, published a research paper entitled (A laboratory study to assess the anti-inflammatory and COX-2 inhibitory activity of some medicinal plants) in an Italian Journal :Italian  journal of Biological Research , which is with an effect factor 0.6 and included within Scopus and Clarvet index  The research included a study of the anti-inflammatory activity of bitter gum extract, celery seed and fenugreek, since most of the studies were studying the anti-inflammatory effectiveness in general in this research. The study was deeper in specialization and focused on the use of red blood cells to study the anti-inflammatory activity and the method of immunoassay to study the inhibition of COX-2 The primary responsible for inflammation in the human body, and the more effective the drug in inhibiting the COX-2 enzyme, the more effective the drug and the fewer side effects resulting from the frequent use of the drug. It was found that the celery seed extract was more effective than the rest of the extracts.
