The Pharmaceutical Chemistry Department of the College of Pharmacy organized a party on the occasion of the fifty-fifth anniversary of the founding of the University of Basrah 
 the Head of the Pharmaceutical Chemistry Department, Prof. Dr. Rahim Jamil Muhaisen, said: Our party today is part of the college’s activities to celebrate this occasion, as we held a scientific exhibition that included displaying posters on various topics, including introducing pharmaceutical chemistry, branches of chemistry, and some of the most famous organic compounds that are used in pharmacology and designs for some devices.  The glass used in chemical reactions for the preparation and purification of some drugs, as well as the chemical composition of some drugs and their metabolism in vivo, in addition to awareness posters about drugs and their components, tobacco, its components and its damages. Muhaisin added: We had a plastic art exhibition for students' paintings and handicrafts, in addition to holding a breakfast banquet for the college staff.
