In conjunction with the celebrations of the University of Basrah for its fifty-fifth anniversary, the College of Pharmacy, as part of its activities on this occasion, inaugurated the Medical Physics Laboratory in the presence of the Associate Dean for Administrative Affairs, Prof. Dr. Daoud Gloub Hillel and a number of the college professors  The laboratory official, Dr. Suha Sheyal, stated: The laboratory was opened after its rehabilitation in order to accommodate the increasing numbers of students and to achieve the requirements of laboratory quality in terms of providing cooling devices and a protection system that included alarm devices, ventilation and fire extinguishers, providing the laboratory with an emergency exit, and securing laboratory safety requirements such as guiding and warning signs and a first aid box.  The laboratory was also provided with a display screen and some laboratory equipment. The laboratory was also designed to consist of an administration room and a laboratory room according to international standards for laboratory quality.
