Assistant prof.at the University of Basrah ,Pharmacy College get involved in the first international conference about pathological analysis.
Dr. Nisreen Waleed Mustafa, a lecturer at the College of Pharmacy, participated in the first international conference on pathological analysis held by the College of Science at the University of Basra. Participation included research on estimating the therapeutic efficiency of nandrolone decanoate on adult and non-adult phases of the parasite Fasciola gigantica The research aims to determine the efficiency of the hormone nandrolone decanoate in the treatment of animals infected with fascioliasis, an infectious disease of humans and animals resulting from infection parasites Fasciola hepatia and Fasciola gigantica parasites settle down in the liver and feed on hepatocytes resulting in significant damage to liver cells that lead to cirrhosis of the liver. The results showed that nandrolone decanoate is highly effective in killing adult and non-adult phases of the parasite and stimulating the construction of liver tissue in infected animals.
