Basrah - College of Pharmacy Media:

The College of Pharmacy at the University of Basrah organized a seminar titled "Using Microwave in the Preparation of Cyclic Organic Compounds and Studying Their Biological Activity." The lecture was presented by Dr. Suha Katta Salal.

The seminar included an explanation of using microwave technology in the preparation of new cyclic compounds derived from chalcone compounds, as well as the preparation of chalcone compound chains using traditional methods. The results of the comparison showed that preparation methods using microwave technology yield a purer product and are faster in completing chemical reactions, which falls within the framework of green chemistry.

The seminar also demonstrated that the prepared compounds showed great activity against the types of bacteria and fungi used for the purpose of studying biological activity.
