The Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology at the College of Pharmacy, University of Basrah, organized a seminar titled "The Effect of Lycopene on Some Physiological and Histological Changes Induced by Monosodium Glutamate in Rats." The lecture was delivered by Dr. Manal Nasser Abdul Hassan.

The seminar explained the effect of both lycopene and monosodium glutamate on isolated neurons, and the study of their effects in vitro and in vivo.

The study aimed to explain the effect of monosodium glutamate salt on rats during pregnancy and lactation, and the study of isolating neurons after birth.
