Basrah University studies the effect of bee propolis, carbimazole and thyroxine on some body parts in rats

A master's thesis at the College of Pharmacy at the University of Basrah examined (the effect of bee propolis, carbimazole, thyroxine and their combination on the thyroid gland and some organs in female rats) by the student Ghadeer Hamad Ghubaish.  The study dealt with knowing the effect of bee propolis on biochemical variables and histological analysis on the thyroid gland, kidneys and liver, where studies indicate that bee propolis acts as a strong antioxidant and anti-inflammatory  The thesis concluded that bee propolis has a protective effect on the thyroid gland against the increase in the level of thyroid hormone, in addition to that bee propolis has a protective effect on the liver and kidneys. These effects were confirmed through the histological tests and the biochemical variables. And also the study found out that bees propolis had increased the animals body weight and had an effect on their blood.
