The Department of Clinical Laboratory Sciences at the College of Pharmacy, University of Basrah, organized a seminar titled "Identifying Biomarkers in Predicting Pregnancy Complications Associated with Small Fetal Size Using Protein Fingerprinting."
The session featured a lecture by Dr. Wafa Abdul-Nabi Fleifel, who discussed pregnancy disorders where fetal size is small relative to gestational age and its future health consequences. She emphasized that early detection via advanced (LC-MS) technology enables specialized monitoring, ensuring a healthier life for mothers and infants.

The seminar aimed to raise awareness about avoiding complications like neurological impairment and learning difficulties. It also focused on reducing mortality rates for women and children by using protein fingerprinting as a proactive marker for early detection.
