The College of Pharmacy organizes a seminar on cancer treatment

The Clinical Pharmacy Department at the College of Pharmacy, University of Basrah, organized a seminar titled 'The Role of Nutrition in the Development and Treatment of Cancer.'
The seminar included a lecture delivered by Dr. Noor Abdulrahman, in which she explained the importance of nutrition as a fundamental and primary factor in the development and exacerbation of many diseases, including cancer.
The discussion also addressed key types of food categories that may increase the risk of cancer, most notably sugars, certain amino acids, some fats, and red meat.
Additionally, the seminar highlighted other types of foods considered essential in combating the onset and progression of the disease, such as olive oil, antioxidants, and specific dietary regimens which, when followed under the supervision of a specialized medical team, can assist in fighting cancer alongside anticancer treatments.
Therefore, healthy nutrition is considered a fundamental preventive measure against diseases and a supportive factor in accelerating recovery when combined with medical treatment.
