The two lecturers at the College of Pharmacy, Zainab Najm Abd Al-Nabi and Dr. Asia Salman Abdullah, published a paper entitled (The use of the adjunctive drug capapentin before the operation with the drug dexamethasone compared with the drug dexamethasone alone to relieve pain after a cholecystectomy) in the Indian journal : Journal of Pharmaceutical Research with an effect factor of 0.12 and within Scopes index. The research included a study of severe postoperative pain, which causes a longer stay in hospital and may be a risk factor for the development of chronic pain in the patient The study also aimed to determine the effect of giving the adjunctive drug capapentin before the operation with the drug dexamethasone for pain relief after the cholecystectomy by endoscopy. The study found that using capapentin with dexamethasone before surgery greatly reduces the need for opioid analgesics after the operation, as well as reduces post-operative pain and vomiting.
