Workshop Held on "The Role of Women in Combating Violent Extremism Leading to Terrorism"

 

The Women's Empowerment Unit at the College of Pharmacy, University of Basrah, organized a workshop titled "The Role of Women in Combating Violent Extremism Leading to Terrorism," coinciding with the "16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence" campaign.

The workshop was held in cooperation with the Representative of Women's Affairs at the Arab Gulf Academy for Maritime Studies and the Department of Women and Family at the Basrah Governorate Council. The head of the unit, Lecturer Rawnak Thamer, stated that the session discussed the risks of violence and its negative impact on society, proposing solutions to mitigate the phenomenon.

The workshop aimed to educate attendees about the dangers of violence against Iraqi women and the necessity of curbing it to create a healthy social environment. This enables women to improve their family and personal realities, positively impacting future generations and the Iraqi community.
