Master's Thesis Discussed on "Synthesis of Heterocyclic Curcumin Analogs with Potential Biological Activity"
A Master's thesis was discussed at the College of Pharmacy, titled "Preparation of Heterocyclic Analogs of Curcuminoids with Potential Biological Activity: A Molecular Docking Study."
The study, presented by student Ola Abdul Hussain Ouda, involved the chemical synthesis of twenty novel compounds, their characterization, and the evaluation of their anti-cancer and anti-inflammatory properties. Advanced spectral methods, including Mass Spectrometry and NMR, were used for molecular verification.
The research demonstrated that the synthesized heterocyclic derivatives possess superior biological efficacy and stability compared to natural curcumin. These findings are particularly significant for developing stable therapeutic agents against lung cancer and chronic inflammation.
