The Professor Dr. Bassem Jassim Hamid and Professor Dr. Falah Hassan Shri, from the College of Pharmacy at the University of Basra; published a study entitled (The synergistic effect of lowering hyperlipidemia of lipoic acid with cholesterol-lowering drugs in rats with hyperlipidemia) in the Romanian journal (Rom J Diabetes Nutr Metab Dis) and within the third quarter of the Scopus classification.
The research included evaluating the addition of lipocic acid to blood lipid-lowering medications in order to increase the effectiveness of these medications and reduce their side effects.
The results of the study showed that adding lipoic acid increased the effectiveness of lipid-lowering drugs very effectively without causing any side effects.
