The College of Pharmacy at the University of Basrah organized a workshop entitled (National Standards for Accreditation of Colleges of Pharmacy in Iraq)
The workshop included a lecture delivered by Assistant Professor Dr. Ahmed Najm Abboud, in which he explained the most important programmatic standards that must be achieved initially in Iraqi colleges of pharmacy to obtain national accreditation, which represent several axes, including the college’s mission, the curriculum, student evaluation, evaluation and follow-up of the program, students, faculty, educational resources, and departments. Faculties of pharmacy and scientific research, as well as continuing professional development and developing educational curricula and keeping them up to date with modernity and the needs of the labor market
The goal of accreditation is the general improvement of the quality of pharmaceutical education and the verification and evaluation of the quality of education in Iraqi pharmacy colleges to ensure good outcomes. Obtaining national accreditation is considered the gateway to obtaining international accreditation, and this is reflected in the value of pharmaceutical outputs and their job opportunities locally or internationally.
