The College of Pharmacy organized a workshop entitled (In light of contemporary security challenges; together against the crime of electronic blackmail)
The workshop aimed to raise public awareness about the dangers of electronic blackmail and its impact on society.
The workshop included a lecture given by the lecturer at Al-Kunooz University College, Assistant Professor Dr. Nibras Salem Khudair, in which he explained the forms and risks of electronic blackmail and mechanisms for preventing potential risks. He also discussed the pros and cons of using social networking sites and accessing the Internet, and the aspects of raising awareness for college students in dealing with suspicious accounts of personalities.  The lecturer also stressed the importance of caution when using and downloading smart electronic applications and the necessity of reading the terms and conditions for subscribing to them, in addition to not trusting strangers on social networking sites because they may use images and information in the process of blackmailing people, especially students.
 He also explained how to deal if a person is exposed to electronic blackmail by not responding to the blackmailer and resorting to the competent authorities in the college and the police, stressing that these cases are dealt with in complete confidentiality by the concerned authorities, stressing the intensification of efforts to limit the spread of this phenomenon and educate and raise awareness of the community.
