Within the series of scientific activities and cognitive capacity development adopted by the University of Basrah. . .the College of Pharmacy organizes a workshop on ELISA technology

The College of Pharmacy at the University of Basrah organized a workshop on the ELISA technique, or what is known as enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay.
The workshop aimed to introduce graduate students to this technology, its usefulness, areas of application, and how to choose the appropriate type of ELISA test for their research.
The workshop included a lecture given by Professor Dr. Nisreen Walid Mustafa, in which she explained that this immunological technique is for detecting and estimating the concentrations of antigens (proteins or hormones) or antibodies and the method of work, as it includes sequential steps, incubation periods, and multiple additives. The solutions and contents of diagnostic kits were identified and observed as an example for the participants, as was Identifying their types and the differences between these types and how to choose the appropriate type according to the materials to be evaluated and the benefit of each type, including direct ELISA, indirect ELISA, sandwich ELISA, and competitive ELISA, as well as the multiple areas to benefit from the application of this technology, for example in the field of quality control, disease diagnosis, vaccine development, and manufacturing. Foods to avoid allergic reactions and toxicology
ELISA testing can be performed for various biological fluids
Such as serum, plasma, and cellular and tissue culture methods to determine the proteins and other proteins produced by these cells
