Discussion of a Master's Thesis at the College of Pharmacy Regarding the Effects of Antioxidants and Hormones in Acne Patients

The esteemed College of Pharmacy at the University of Basrah witnessed the rigorous discussion of a Master's thesis formally presented by researcher (Rand Salah Nasser), detailing an advanced clinical study on the precise status of oxidants, antioxidants, and the physiological levels of specific hormones profoundly impacting patients suffering from acne.

The scientific thesis systematically encompassed the meticulous collection and precise clinical analysis of medical data from 150 samples (comprising 100 diagnosed acne patients and 50 designated control cases) officially acquired from Al-Nasiriyah General Hospital in Dhi Qar Governorate between February and May of 2023. During this comprehensive study, key serum biomarker levels specifically for (CAT, SOD, H2O2, MDA) were meticulously measured, in addition to rigorously evaluating crucial hormone levels universally including (LH, FSH, Estradiol, Testosterone) completely utilizing the advanced Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (ELISA) technique.

The primary objective of the definitive analytical study was to reliably determine the complex levels and physiological status of oxidants, antioxidants, and certain hormones, while meticulously analyzing their direct clinical impact and underlying mutual correlations regarding disease progression in tested acne patients. The study conclusively determined that measuring the precise level of these specific variables in blood serum fundamentally represents a clinically useful diagnostic medical tool, proactively providing highly significant scientific signals that invariably assist professionals in robustly understanding pathological mechanisms and advancing targeted therapeutic strategies for patients globally.
