The Women's Empowerment Unit at the College of Pharmacy at the University of Basrah organized an awareness campaign in conjunction with the global campaign to combat violence against women.
The head of the Women’s Empowerment Unit, lecturer Najla Al-Saffar, stated: We carried out this awareness campaign (Together we color the world orange) in order for our women to be strong and not accept injustice and violence under any name or for any excuse. Women must be civilized because of their social trust and essential role in society.
Al-Saffar continued: Our campaign on this occasion was to imitate female teachers, employees and students with the orange ribbon and give them advice and motivating sayings to combat violence against women and highlight their fundamental and important role in society. This is what we aspire to as a women’s empowerment unit: to accomplish what we have been entrusted with and to bring our women to righteousness. Strength and a voice that rejects everything that detracts from it and to reach the highest levels of life at all levels.
