Pharmacy Faculty Member Highlights Sustainable Development Goals and Universal Health Coverage in International Workshop
Professor Dr. (Falah Hassan Shri) continued his participation in the international workshop organized by the WHO and ICRC, highlighting the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the critical role of Good Governance in achieving Universal Health Coverage.
The workshop reviewed the three main pillars of sustainable development: economic growth, conservation of natural resources and the environment, and social development. Participants emphasized the necessity of improving living conditions without exceeding the Earth's carrying capacity, by adopting balanced production and consumption patterns that ensure resource sustainability for future generations.
Discussions also addressed the challenges of poverty eradication and the importance of health coverage as a fundamental pillar for social and economic stability. This vision reinforces the role of academic institutions in drafting national developmental strategies aligned with international standards and global commitments to building a healthy and sustainable society.
This consistent presence in international forums reflects the leadership of the University of Basrah in adopting and promoting the culture of sustainable development and its scientific applications in pharmacy and health sciences.
