Master's Thesis Examines the Impact of Antioxidants on Hepatic Biomarkers
Candidate: Ali Abdul-Hussein Khalifa
Thesis Title: Effect of fat-soluble and water-soluble antioxidants on hepatic biochemical markers in rats fed high-fat diets.
Research Summary & Objectives
The study aimed to evaluate the protective effects of various combinations of antioxidant agents with different physical properties on hepatic biomarkers, including liver function tests (LFT), oxidative stress markers, and lipid profiles.
Methodology & Agents Used:
The research involved the oral administration of water-soluble antioxidants, specifically Vitamin C and L-Carnitine, alongside fat-soluble antioxidants such as Ubiquinone and Alpha Lipoic Acid, to measure their collective efficacy against high-fat diet-induced hepatic damage.
