The College of Pharmacy is looking to prepare and diagnose oxadiazoline compounds

The thesis of a master's student, Khaldoun Shaker Abdul Salam Amer (Preparation, diagnosis and evaluation of the biological effectiveness of some new compounds 1, 3, 4-oxadiazoline) in the pharmaceutical chemistry branch - College of Pharmacy - University of Basrah examined the process of preparing new oxadiazoline compounds from terephthalic acid in addition to diagnosing the compounds prepared using Micro-elemental analysis techniques, mass spectroscopy, infrared and proton magnetic resonance spectroscopy. The thesis included a study of antibacterial and anti-fungal efficacy, in addition to a study of anti-cancer efficacy. The message concluded that all studied compounds possess excellent efficacy against different types of bacteria compared to standard pharmacological compounds using isolates and clinical positive for Gram stain and isolates the clinical negative for the Gram stain. Some compounds have also shown good efficacy against certain types of fungi compared to the standard pharmaceutical compounds. Screening of anti-cancer activity also revealed that one of the oxidization compounds had good inhibitory activity against breast cancer cell line.
