The Pharmaceutical Chemistry Department at the College of Pharmacy held a seminar on preparing pharmaceutical compounds that act as antibiotics, with the participation of researchers and specialists.
The seminar included a lecture delivered by master’s graduate student Zeina Abd Ali Jabr, which aimed to activate the function of dibenzo-18-crown-6-ether to prepare alpha-beta unsaturated ketone compounds (chalcone) using chemical reactions with aromatic aldehydes, which have medicinal properties such as antibacterials.
