College of Pharmacy Explores Immunological Markers in Celiac Disease and Gallstone Patients
Participated by researchers and specialists, the College of Pharmacy at the University of Basrah organized a scientific seminar investigating the correlation between Celiac disease and gallstones through biochemical and immunological analysis.
The seminar featured a specialized lecture presented by Master's student Muatasem Mohammed Saleh, highlighting a clinical study conducted on patients at Basrah Teaching Hospital. The research focused on identifying immunological and biochemical markers for celiac disease and examining their physiological link to gallstone formation.
The session concluded by highlighting the importance of periodic biochemical assessment for gastrointestinal patients and advocated for stronger research collaboration between academic institutions and teaching hospitals to develop accurate diagnostic protocols for early detection.
