Dr. Qahtan Taha Khalaf, Ambassador of Iraq to the Federal Republic of Russia, visited the sports delegation from the University of Basrah participating in the 2023 World University Games Championship, which is hosted by the city of Ekaterinburg in Russia.

Dr. Qahtan praised the great role played by the University of Basrah in raising the name of Iraq high in all international forums. He also appreciated the efforts of the Iraqi delegation of administrators and players, saluted their spirit of cooperation, and congratulated them on their well-deserved victory over their counterparts from other countries.

For his part, the head of the Iraqi delegation, Professor Dr. Falah Hassan Shri, thanked Dr. Qahtan for taking the trouble of traveling from the capital, Moscow, to the city of Ekaterinburg, in order to stand with his countrymen and check on their conditions.
