Dr.Zainab toma has published a research entitled “Cloning and transformation of human glucoserberosidease in Agrobacterium tumefaciens (LBA4404)in international journal of bioscience ,in Bangladesh with an impact factor 0.5 and included within scopus and Thompson classification.
The study included the production of certain strains of agrobacterium which contain specific plasmid that carry human gene GBA1 in oreder to be ready to convert any required plant to express the human enzyme glucoserberosidease(GBA1) .This enzyme is the compound that used recently to treat Gaucher disease which is a hereditary disease caused by genetic mutation in the gene responsible for encoding this enzyme .
Human blood was a source of DNA using GENEzol TriRNA Pure Kit. The human gene Hu-GBA was amplified by special primer design using PCR technique. The study aimed to produce modified strains of Agrobacterium tumefaciens LBA 4404 that carry the human genes responsible for producing glucoserobridase enzyme that is used to treat Gaucher disease..
