The President of the  university of basrah signed a memorandum of understanding with the Iranian University of Medical Sciences to develop scientific cooperation between the two universities. The Dean of the Pharmacy College Dr. Jubran Khalil Hassan said that the agreement included exchange programs of teaching staff ,students scientific and technical experiences in all medical sciences, including pharmaceutical sciences, pharmacognocy , alternative medicine and other specialized medical sciences such as nursing. The agreement also included the future cooperation to train the students and improve the quality of education at the University of Basra , In addition to the scientific contributions in the field of laboratories, lectures, conferences and seminars in both universities. Related to College of Pharmacy ,the agreement emphasized on the development of the pharmacognosy department and medicinal plants by providing suitable lands for the cultivation of medicinal herbs and work to extract their useful materials. The agreement aims to open cooperation prospects with the University of Iran for medical sciences in order to improve the scientific and technical efficiency of the staff of different specializations and provide College of Pharmacy with rare and new important specializations and scientific expertise in the medical, pharmaceutical sciences.
