A faculty member at the College of Pharmacy gives lectures in an educational course on domestic violence

Assistant Lecturer Najla Saeed Al-Saffar, delivered lectures on domestic violence and its impact on society in a course held by the Women's Empowerment Unit at the Arabian Gulf Academy for Maritime Studies.
Al-Saffar stated: We were invited by the Women's Empowerment Unit at the Arabian Gulf Academy for Maritime Studies to give lectures on domestic violence, a comprehensive perspective on causes and treatment, definition of violence and its forms, and institutional and societal violence. The lectures also shed light on forms of violence, including physical, moral and sexual violence within the family. The course also discussed the effects of domestic violence on the victim and, consequently, its negative impact on the family and society.
The session also touched on violence against children, its causes, and awareness of its dangers to society.
The course aimed at raising awareness of the risks and psychological effects resulting from violence in all its forms and manifestations, especially violence against women and children.
