the President of the University, Prof. Dr. Saad Shaheen Hammadi, stated:
Our visit to the Child Hospital for Oncology and Hereditary Blood Diseases is part of a series of continuous visits by the cadres of the University of Basrah where we equipped the hospital with medicines and medical supplies worth (16) million dinars that will meet their needs for two full months, and we will continue to give to our children and our families in Basrah and community service.
Hammadi added: We also looked at the project of the PET Scan device for the tomography of cancerous diseases, which is currently being worked on in the hospital, and thus the patient will not need to travel outside Iraq for this examination. Cancer patients benefit from it.
For their part, the Director of the Children's Hospital, Dr. Abbas, welcomed this initiative and said: This initiative is not new for the University of Basrah as they are in continuous communication and provide the hospital with cancer medicines and medical supplies. We appreciate this initiative, which contributed a lot to solving the problems we face due to the shortage in Medicines and medical supplies.
