Dr. Rahim Jamil Muheisen, a teacher at the College of Pharmacy and Eng. Sabah Sada Saddam from the Department of Construction and Projects at University of Basrah , managed to manufacture an electrical device for winding Swabs and Dr. Rahim said: This device works to spin 10 swabs per minute, and these swabs are very important in taking samples in patients suspected of being infected with the Coronavirus . Muheisen added: The device gave high efficiency in turning the swabs, as well as saving effort, time and efficiency compared to the manual method, which is parallel to the process of manufacturing the culture medium for the Covid -19 virus . Another device was also manufactured and delivered to the College of Medicine for the same purpose, noting that the device was manufactured despite the limited capabilities that the country passes through and the lack of spare parts in the local market. Nevertheless, the team managed to complete several devices, and thus Basra University lists success after success, which reflects the prestigious scientific reality of scientific research and its employment with such crises. The team added thanks to the President of the University and the Dean of the College of Pharmacy for providing the capabilities and encouraging the product.
