The College of Pharmacy at the University of Basrah organized the annual Healing Herb Festival for the sixth year in a row, under the slogan (Less Waste...For a More Beautiful Country...For a More Beautiful Iraq...And for Basra Fayhaa'More Beautiful)
Where the festival began with a verse of the Holy Quran, then Surat Al-Fatihah was recited for the souls of our pure martyrs, then the Dean of the College of Pharmacy, Prof. Dr. Falah Hassan Shri, gave a speech in which he explained the importance of medicinal herbs and their positive impact on the body and the reduction of diseases if used by the correct medical methods, and the use of herbal remedies reduces Its side effect of many serious diseases. He also indicated that the activities of the College of Pharmacy at University of Basrah are nothing but an embodiment of all the scientific, cultural and human energies that the university possesses. The Herb Healing Festival is a platform for spreading the culture of herbs and their importance to public health.
Then Dr. Ola Al-Moussawi, the organizer of this festival, gave her speech in which she said: In every festival there are new faces and heroes from the students of the College of Pharmacy, and every year a story is written with letters of confidence and faith, and this year our story was titled (Less Waste ... for a More Beautiful Country). For a more beautiful Iraq .. and for Basra Fayhaa more beautiful) This year a healing herb in its sixth edition was able to move an entire team of students and professors, for more than a month the College of Pharmacy was engraving the true love of the homeland through the work of its children because the current environmental situation invites us to pay more attention to the impact that we leave individually and collectively on our environment, and in order for there to be sustainable development, we must not ignore the environment and not destroy or deplete natural resources. How many plants save people from death, but who saves these plants from threats of extinction?
Al-Moussawi continued: This year we send a message to all generations that our environment has a thousand rights upon us, and here are the students of our college, the blessing of our journey, proving to the world that work is not based on capabilities, but rather on the level of ambitions and dreams, and if you do not take what you deserve today, you will be rewarded tomorrow
Then, the Dean of the College inaugurated with the honorable guests the Herb Healing Festival, which included several paragraphs, including the charitable market, the exhibition of medicinal plants, the exhibition of materials that have been recycled and presented in a beautiful way, in addition to the book and drawing exhibition, an exhibition of medicinal herbs and vegetable oils, an exhibition of medicines and the side of the medical examination Free of charge for pressure and diabetes, as the proceeds from all these activities go to the Al-Amal Institute for the Deaf and Dumb.
