Doctors at the University of Basrah publish a research paper in a scientific journal included within Scopus index. 

Assistant Prof. Dr.Azza Sajid and Dr.Rasha Naseer in the College of Pharmacy published a research paper entitled (Impact of paints exposur on pulmonry function tests in male workers in Basrah city ,south of Iraq )in an international journal the International journal of  pharmaceutical - research) which is with an impact factor0.8  and included within Scopus index .  The research was to investigate the effect of commonly used house paints on the respiratory function represented  by pulmonary function tests , of workers in this field. The study showed that the effect of these paints appears after continuous working hours up to eight hours a day for a period of five years or more.The study highlighted the the effect of continuous exposure to paint on pulmonary function tests as well as the   Necessity to follow the instructions of works rules of safety guidelines such as wearing a mask and gloves,especially when workers  expose to paint for long time and because the effect of chemicals in paints  increases with the increase in temperatures and this what was appeared in the city of Basrah, which is characterized by high temperatures.
