After the scientific research team within the Crisis Cell at the University of Basrah succeeded in preparing and producing the Coronavirus transport medium, which was officially adopted in Iraq and distributed to most of its governorates, and which received commendation from the World Health Organization (WHO), the organization took the initiative to document this activity on its official website in English, supported by photos of the scientific staff who contributed to this achievement.

The WHO commended the efforts of the scientific staff during its publication of the scientific achievement news. It also contributed by providing some assistance and raw materials to continue producing larger quantities for other governorates, in addition to presenting gifts to the scientific staff who contributed to this achievement.
