The College of Pharmacy at the University of Basrah set up a medical detachment on the road between Samawah and Nasiriyah to provide health and treatment services to visitors walking on foot on the occasion of the Arbaeen visit.
The Dean of the College of Pharmacy, Prof. Falah Hassan, said: In an initiative that the visitors considered the task, a group of professors and employees of the College of Pharmacy at the University of Basrh set up a medical detachment on the road between the Batha area and the holy Karbala for the purpose of providing medical services to the visitors of the Arbaeen.
Shri continued: The detachment was established by the efforts of the members of the College of Pharmacy and its professors, where our team included professors and affiliates from the college, in addition to female gynecologists, where we provided services for the walker, including conducting clinical examinations and providing the medicines that were provided to them with self-financing, which included all kinds of analgesics, antibiotics, anti-rash ointments and relaxants. Nerves, vitamins, intravenous solutions, analgesic injections for pain, muscle relaxants, anti-diarrhea and antacids, medical supplies such as cushions and belts, in addition to devices for measuring sugar and blood pressure, and all that the visitor needs during the walk.
Shri continued: This initiative comes from our keenness to participate in such a global, humanitarian and great forum at the same time, as our initiative was welcomed by the people and participants in the march to the Holy Karbala.
